National
Numerous states considered legislation governing the use of PPO “rental networks.” Fortunately, most states considered versions based on the model act adopted in 2008 by the National Conference of Insurance Legislators, which excluded workers’ compensation from its requirements.
South Carolina
The Workers’ Compensation Commission has requested comment on the issue of carving out implantables for separate reimbursement under the state’s hospital fee schedule. It is not known when the state might propose regulations on this issue in response to the comments they have received.
